History
It is all began in 2005, when the first batch of students, 36 in number, enrolled themselves to undertake the Pharmacy course in AIMST University. At that time, the School of Pharmacy was situated in the old campus in Amanjaya, Sungai Petani. PharmSA (Pharmaceutical Society of AIMST) had been formed under Section 41 of AIMST Constitution. It is a pharmacy-focused association, with the aim of uniting all the pharmacy students of AIMST University. The association was driven by its motto, “Educate before we medicate”.
Under the guidance of the first PharmSA president & founder, Melissa Hong Chui Ean and her advisor, Dr. K.M Sundram, PharmSA blossomed and emerged as one of the most active students association in AIMST University till date. In 2006, PharmSA joined Malaysian Pharmacy Students’ Association (MyPSA). Under MyPSA, PharmSA was able to attend/join many national and international events such as National Gathering of Pharmacy Students (NoGAPS), National Pharmacy Sports Carnival, National Pharmacy Quiz Competition, Student Exchange Program, Asia- Pacific Pharmaceutical Symposium (APPS), International Pharmacy Student Federation (IPSF) Congress and etc.
